Update on Chris Saviano

Ever since I posted a photo of the guy protesting in Daley Plaza a few months ago, the top search coming in to my blog has been 'chris saviano'.

You may have noticed a comment a couple of days ago from Scott Hiles, saying he'd seen the protester in Washington D.C., protesting on the steps outside the Supreme Court. I'm not sure yet why he's moved. As of June 23rd, his case was still in chicago. This guy still seems to be a black hole as far as the internet is concerned, the only other reference on google is a myspace girl who seems to have gone out with Mr. Saviano. *shiver* The photos below are from Scott
Settng upconversing with the policeshe takes his name, but doesn't write him a ticket

Didn’t anyone hear that his wife said in open court she doesn’t even know this poor guy Chris Saviano? He has never harmed her, nor does she beleive he would ever be a threat? Her soon to be ex husband (the guy witht eh sign) was fired from the company the FBI guy’s dad works for… hmmmm? Don’t you think the FBI would be all over the bad press if tehre was anything behind this? hmmmmm

No, unfortunately I haven’t been able to make it to the trial dates. If you have more information, please share, i’d love to set the record straight.

it does sound fishy at best, but the FBI has always been less than forthcoming, so radio silence doesn’t signal much to me.

A word about anonymous commenting: it’s available for when you need it, but unless you’re really spilling the beans, it’s best to at least give us something to call you. also, your email won’t be shared or shown, ever. it just means that when you comment more than once you don’t have to wait for your comment to be approved.

I saw this man yesterday at the taste. I spoke with him briefly and learned a little about him and what he is protesting. According to him, he has been protesting 41 days and has been all around the country including Capital Hill in Washington DC trying to communicate his message.

here is a picture of him from my camera phone site:

Similar to this fellow, I found the documentary Lunch Inside the 12 Galaxies about another street-side icon in San Fran. Pretty well done.

yeah, he’s quite the tourist attraction. the day we went over there, though, it was rainy and he wasn’t out.

Farhad’s a travelling attraction, perhaps he’ll play NY this fall ;)

His firing from the job might check out: A search for Farhad Khoiee turns up this: http://www.illinoisashrae.org/GRAPHICS/intercom...

It looks like he went to a meeting of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers. Look at what company he represents: McGuire Engineers.

Search for McGuire Engineers… Click Contact, look at the Officers: Vice President - Dominic Saviano!

I see this guy every day at the Daley Plaza when i go to lunch. I asked him why he was protesting, why he doesn’t just go to an FBI office with a lawyer. He told me something about not being allowed a court hearing, and then mumbled a few more unintelligible words. I asked him a number of questions, and he answered as if he hadn’t been listening to me at all. Then i have since searched google for his name, and the main thing that came up was a link to the Clerk’s office of the circuit court of cook county, with the details of his Divorce hearing. He has been in court for 2 years trying to get a divorce from his wife. If in fact his wife has been raped, he sure doesn’t seem to care about her honor or name. I think the guy is a joke, and deserves a few chuckles and some pity. By the way, here is a link to his divorce hearings.

@Steve - excellent, i didn’t realize that his name was hyphenated, and could be shortened, until recently.

my wife picked up a card he was handing out the other day:

    —–Granted Investigation—–
    By: FBI, Inspection Division (INSD)
    Abuser(Chicago): FBI Rapist Chris Saviano
    Time:
    June 28, 2006
    —————

    Thanks to:
1)The Honorable Senator Barak Obama, and
    2) You, All
    —————————
    Refugee: farhad khoiee-abassi ( July 20, 2006 )

I’m pretty sure he’s making it up himself, evidenced by the inclusion of ‘rapist’, so it’s sounding more and more like he’s just a crazy guy.

Farhad was at the corner of Wall Street and Broadway in lower Manhattan today (July 31) at lunch time with his “Chris Saviano, Stop Raping My Wife” sign. I was curious so I googled it, and arrived here.

Yeah, i saw him today! I chuckled to myself. He is obviously very proud of himself. He’s always so well-dressed, so he probably has money, and i imagine he has a job in the loop. He must spend his lunch break protesting. Even guys with good jobs can be a bit off kilter.

if we assume he’s working for some other mechanical engineering firm, then yeah, he probably has to dress up everyday. the mysterious part is that he does so much travelling.

Below the “stop raping my wife” sign, on the same pole, there is a two sided framed poster, approximately 18″x24″… on one side, there is a picture with “DC” printed on it of him with his sign on the supreme court steps; on the other side, with a red “NY” printed on it, is him with his sign on the street in New York.

I just came back from Chicago on June 28th and he was standing on the corner where Water Tower Place is at. Several people stopped and tried to talk to them but he never said a word to anyone while I was there. He had the “Stop Raping My Wife” sign and underneath it he had another sign that said, “Mayor Daley, the DICTATOR” We took a pic of him because as tourist from a small town, we had never seen anything like him. I searched up Chris Saviano and found several sites that cover his trek.
