In Defence of my Absence

I haven't been exactly forthcoming with posts this month. I haven't been lazy, though. Most of the free time I would normally devote to posting has been spent working on our office's new site. I think the results are well worth the effort, but click the screenshot to see for yourself:

Blueprint Design Studio

My design was the last in a long line of remixes by everyone in the office. Basically, I poured the trendy web 2.0 juice on top of everyone else's designs :P Patrick H. did the really kick-ass blur in the flash menu. I find myself playing with that for far too long. Check it out, and tell us what you think. Now that the site's done, I'll be posting the promised "beginner" wordpress tutorials starting later this week.

    Kick-ass blur, indeed. Love that. Also, I believe I detect some Candara in there, eh?

    Looks great, page-author-adam. ;-)

    The new design looks great Adam! I like it much better than the old site.

    One thing though, the last link in the navigation bar doesn’t look right in Firefox 2.0.0.11 on Windows. The back grounds end on the right and the news button only shows up on roll-over.

    Thanks!
    @Scott -
    you do indeed :D

    Thanks for the heads up, I’ve spied that bug a couple times, but I’ve been unable to reproduce it with regularity (or even long enough to debug it). What’s your font size, and do you have Candara installed?

    Hey, that looks pretty cool*!

    And as a BTW, I really like the Nada coffee logo. Nice one, whoever did that.

    *although I’m getting the evil horizontal scroll on a tiger mac @1024 x 768. It’s evil I tell you.

    Most of the logos were done by eric, long ago. We’ll have a full blown graphic design portfolio (like the web portfolio) in the near future.
    I’ll work on the horizontal scrolling.
    @Richard -
    We only officially recommend bluehost as web hosts. We’ve never had any requests for wp.com designing.

    No wonder you have been so scarce. The website is really fabulous. It’s attractive and easy to read and navigate. I love the blur out or whatever you call it. Well done. :-)

    It is a wicked design Adam. Scott’s designs are fabulous and I decided that veryplaintext was a nice fit for my main blog. I thank Scott for that :)

    Indeed they are. I should have mentioned that it started from Sandbox, although it’s a little more mangled than most of the sites i develop.
